Adalberto Paranaense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jefferson Massa in the 11th minute of play. In the last second Dráusio Siqueira throw himself and got hold of the ball when Bernardinho Cardoso in the 18thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After a rather tough play, WAU team's Renan Fantini got a free kick in the 19th minute. Luiz Paulo Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dráusio Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Luiz Paulo Velasco came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Rezende FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Paulo Velasco couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manoel Montenegro during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adalberto Paranaense was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half WAU team were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernardinho Cardoso to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Velasco in the 56th minute of play forced WAU team's goalkeeper Dráusio Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th match minute, WAU team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renan Fantini to maneuver through the defense. Rezende FC's Caetano Freitas was substituted for Josué Castro. Rezende FC's Lauro Vander was substituted for Manoel Montenegro. Renan Fantini kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Bernardinho Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dráusio Siqueira was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Dráusio Siqueira came out of the goal and Afonsinho Tasso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th match minute, Rezende FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. If Afonsinho Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dráusio Siqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardinho Cardoso in the 83rd minute of the match. José Vítor Lopes hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, WAU team's Jefferson Massa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Adalberto Paranaense. Adalberto Paranaense yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. The audience was convinced that Bernardinho Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dráusio Siqueira was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Paulo Velasco in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dráusio Siqueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. WAU team's Dráusio Siqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardinho Cardoso in the 96th minute of play.

WAU team's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
