Telmo Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yu Hong Liang, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Roland Alström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Róbson Velasco in the 7th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goalkeeper Roland Alström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Róbson Velasco. The crowd rose to their feet as Róbson Velasco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roland Alström. That made the score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. The throw-in from Mark Åberg in the 10th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Callegari's Saulvedis Šūpelis. When Callegari's Róbson Velasco in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goalie prevented a goal. Roland Alström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbson Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the game, Callegari's Róbson Velasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roland Alström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Callegari's Telmo Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yu Hong Liang in the 25th minute of play. Mats Hermansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Telmo Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Di Marzio in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Clemente Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Callegari defense, Yu Hong Liang kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Telmo Almeida. The Callegari fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Telmo Almeida should have stopped the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yu Hong Liang stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 肖青轩 made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Mats Hermansson. Callegari's Olavo Pinheiro quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lennart Hellström, made in the 55th minute of the game. A collision led to Hala Madrid Iraki FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Lennart Hellström hit a great ball. Callegari's Wambasther Seedorf was substituted for Clóvis Proença. In the 61st minute Róbson Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Alström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Róbson Velasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Callegari's Eduardo Guerrero was substituted for Róbson Velasco. 70 minutes into the match, Callegari's goal looked a bit too open when Håkan Ödman came free, but Telmo Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hala Madrid Iraki FC's Stefan Danielsson was substituted for Håkan Ödman. Callegari's Albertinho Teles was substituted for Olavo Pinheiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Guerrero in the 76th minute of play forced Hala Madrid Iraki FC's goalkeeper Roland Alström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Telmo Almeida made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kristian Tillman in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, Callegari's goal looked a bit too open when Yu Hong Liang came free, but Telmo Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hala Madrid Iraki FC's attentive André Kuipers managed to snatch the ball when 肖青轩 made a throw-in in the 94th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kristian Tillman got free with Telmo Almeida in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Matty Cash kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.

Hala Madrid Iraki FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
