The audience was convinced that Paco Everett's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arvid Säv was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. Arvid Säv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Drake Sobczak, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Drake Sobczak hit a great ball. 46 minutes into the match, Sparsör BF's goal looked a bit too open when Carlisle Fenwick came free, but Arvid Säv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oskar Törnblom to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Sparsör BF's Mei Zhen Chuan got a free kick in the 55th minute. 73 minutes into the match, Aurelio Cesaro notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Boroondara Milan's Martyon Diehl. Martyon Diehl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Boroondara Milan's Kris Pearse was substituted for Paco Everett. After some careless play in the Boroondara Milan defense, Oskar Törnblom kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martyon Diehl.
