The supporters of Cambotinha EC booed when Breguete FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Cambotinha EC's Sílvio Luiz Velasco got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 26thth minute of the game Luiz Gustavo Sanches who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cambotinha EC's André Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luizão Cruz's late challenge caught a Cambotinha EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 35th minute Fiori Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Gustavo Sanches in the 37th minute of the match. Fiori Coutinho came free with the goalkeeper in the 48th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Júlio Soares could save by the left post. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Gustavo Sanches stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Celso Tepedino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cambotinha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Tepedino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. André Reis came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Breguete FC's Luiz Gustavo Sanches. But to his dismay, Luiz Gustavo Sanches quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Breguete FC's Júlio Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiori Coutinho in the 68th minute of play. Gláuber Teixeira hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Sílvio Luiz Velasco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Júlio Soares. Breguete FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Luiz Velasco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Luiz Gustavo Sanches received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. André Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Breguete FC's zone, Fiori Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Soares came out of the goal and Fiori Coutinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Augusto Santos got free with André Reis in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Cambotinha EC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
