Trendafil Mihalkov made in the 12th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Koulis Varakis immediately put the ball in play. If Koulis Varakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 19 minutes into the match, CSKA's goal looked a bit too open when Raido Pulver came free, but Vergil Monchev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kings's goalkeeper Haşim Batüralp, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gergin Toninski scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Haşim Batüralp, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Raido Pulver could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Vergil Monchev made a huge save. After 34 minutes CSKA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Raido Pulver who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Kings's Rocco Ball to fire away a dangerous shot which Vergil Monchev despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. CSKA's Vanko Yoshev managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Edgaras Jankauskas in the 43 minute of the game. After having played for 44 minutes, Gergin Toninski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CSKA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gergin Toninski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgaras Jankauskas made in the 46th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by CSKA's Vanko Yoshev.

Kings's Luís Figo was substituted for Rocco Ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raido Pulver was the one to do the kick off. If Raido Pulver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
