Grzegorz Szamotulski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Mendonça in the 12th minute of the match. Bret Harper made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Wagner Kill sent off a good shot on target. Bret Harper stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wagner Kill's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Guarulhas's goal looked a bit too open when Wagner Kill came free, but Bret Harper reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wagner Kill in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bret Harper saved Guarulhas from getting behind. In the 25th minute Wagner Kill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bret Harper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wagner Kill in the 27th minute of play forced Guarulhas's goalkeeper Bret Harper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bret Harper made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wagner Kill in the 32nd minute. When Guarulhas's Luiz Fábio Mendonça in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bret Harper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wagner Kill in the 43rd minute of play. After 45 minutes Guarulhas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Benicio Maurin who took care of the corner kick. Gunnar Deisler made a great header on Diablofaryd F.C.'s corner, it was just that Guarulhas's Bret Harper managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 46th minute Luiz Fábio Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grzegorz Szamotulski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcel Baiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bret Harper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wagner Kill in the 52nd minute of play. Bret Harper stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wagner Kill's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wagner Kill in the 61st minute of play forced Guarulhas's goalkeeper Bret Harper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Benicio Maurin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute Wagner Kill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bret Harper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Gunnar Deisler almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Guarulhas's Bret Harper did a great save. 70 minutes into the game, Wagner Kill cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Bret Harper was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Wagner Kill came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Diablofaryd F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wagner Kill couldn't finish the play. Wagner Kill struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Bret Harper didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diablofaryd F.C.. In the 79th minute Wagner Kill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bret Harper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiaguinho Reis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Grzegorz Szamotulski made a huge save. 82 minutes into the match, Wagner Kill notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Guarulhas's Bret Harper. Bret Harper was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Grzegorz Szamotulski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiaguinho Reis, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Wagner Kill took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bret Harper. Bret Harper dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Bret Harper came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Diablofaryd F.C.'s Wagner Kill. But to his dismay, Wagner Kill quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Guarulhas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
