Luca Pancu might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ilya Efimov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luca Pancu ran back to his position shaking his head. Iacob Povară made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marat Smolskiy in the 33rd minute of play. Oktyabrsky HC's Ilya Efimov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Oktyabrsky HC from getting a goal against them. In the 43rd minute Silviu Latarețu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilya Efimov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The Oktyabrsky HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ilya Efimov should have stopped the shot. Oktyabrsky HC made a substitution. Adrian Beschastnyh replaced Timur Buderaskiy. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Gheorghe Bociort sped through Oktyabrsky HC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ilya Efimov. 84 minutes into the match, Gheorghe Bociort had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilya Efimov. Oktyabrsky HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gheorghe Bociort was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0.
