In the 5th minute Zé Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernd Yuschni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, Libertadores's goalkeeper Hélio Neiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lars Voss. In the 9thth minute of the game Emilio Argina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Libertadores's Hélio Neiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hélio Neiva made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Willi Tilmann sent off a good shot on target. After 14 minutes Libertadores's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Otfried Mutke who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Hannover Reds's Qiao Xing Qi to fire away a dangerous shot which Hélio Neiva despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by Libertadores's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Otfried Mutke was slow to take the kick. During this time Hannover Reds's players had a chance to rest. 24 minutes into the match, Hannover Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Wanderson Paiva came free, but Bernd Yuschni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hélio Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Voss, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernd Yuschni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Generoso Gasteiz in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd minute of the match Libertadores got a corner. Hannover Reds's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ricardinho Matos ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ricardinho Matos made a great header on Libertadores's corner, it was just that Hannover Reds's Bernd Yuschni managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Willi Tilmann got free with Hélio Neiva in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emilio Argina was extremely unlucky when he, in the 35th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilio Argina in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hélio Neiva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Hannover Reds fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Hannover Reds's Willi Tilmann looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hélio Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willi Tilmann in the 64th minute of play. When Lars Voss fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hannover Reds's protests and gave Lars Voss a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute, Lars Voss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardinho Matos hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Hélio Neiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emilio Argina in the 67th minute of play. When Zé Terra came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Libertadores fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Terra couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute Willi Tilmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélio Neiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Libertadores's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Voss came free, but Hélio Neiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Recife could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Bernd Yuschni made a huge save. Emilio Argina hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Libertadores's Hélio Neiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Argina in the 87th minute of play. Emilio Argina succeeded in the game's 88th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-0. After a rather tough play, Libertadores's Andrézinho Tasso got a free kick in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Argina in the 93rd minute of play forced Libertadores's goalkeeper Hélio Neiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hannover Reds's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
