The supporters of F.C.BARLAD booed when ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narcis Ruşdea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valentin Plopșor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Andrei Dinculescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leontin Timaru kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. F.C.BARLAD's Florin Racoviceanu shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 18th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Andrei Dinculescu but with some difficulty. In the 22nd minute of the match, Octav Ţintea tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Andrei Dinculescu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Andrei Dinculescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Octav Ţintea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C.BARLAD were furious when Aurelian Pistol was red carded, 32 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 32nd minute, one of F.C.BARLAD:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for F.C.BARLAD. In the 37th minute, Eusebiu Frățilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Octav Ţintea got free with Andrei Dinculescu in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ defense, Valentin Plopșor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Andrei Dinculescu. The ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Andrei Dinculescu should have stopped the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anton Cojocaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sebastian Manafu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Tarcea in the 51st minute of play. Andrei Dinculescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Plopșor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valentin Plopșor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrei Dinculescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. F.C.BARLAD's Sebastian Manafu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save F.C.BARLAD from getting a goal against them. Andrei Dinculescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebiu Frățilă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ilie Hâjdău had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to ★POLI★™★VIOLA★ getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ilie Moiș hit a great ball. Andrei Dinculescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusebiu Frățilă in the 94th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in ★POLI★™★VIOLA★'s zone, Eusebiu Frățilă stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrei Dinculescu came out of the goal and Eusebiu Frățilă tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score was 1-1 after 90 minutes, which forced the match into extra-time.

When Eusebiu Frățilă came up free with the goalie in the 100th minute, the F.C.BARLAD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusebiu Frățilă couldn't finish the play. In the 108th minute, Martin Ilarie got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Martin Ilarie kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Andrei Dinculescu. That made the score 2-1 in the 109 minute of play. F.C.BARLAD's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
