The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marbjörn Garpsson made a great header on Linköpings AIK's corner, it was just that Ayla FC's Nilson Fraser managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Arvid Carlsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nilson Fraser. That made the score 2-0 in the 42 minute of play. In the 47th match minute, Ayla FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Case Dillon to maneuver through the defense. When Arvid Carlsson came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Linköpings AIK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arvid Carlsson couldn't finish the play.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silvério Pinhal made a kick off. Arvid Carlsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nilson Fraser having to make a save. Nilson Fraser showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvid Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ayla FC's goalkeeper Nilson Fraser, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ayla FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Linköpings AIK.
