The tension between the Montevideo City Torque and the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomas Avellaneda shot from long distance in the 8th minute, but Jerico Villafana was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. After 9 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Palben. Nicasio Dayam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Jerico Villafana made a huge save. In the 13th minute ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were awarded a corner. Tomas Avellaneda went to the cornerflag to take it. Ricardo Weterio took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jerico Villafana. Jerico Villafana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 22nd minute, Rodrigo Alvarez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emiliano Urdin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicasio Dayam got free with Jerico Villafana in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jerico Villafana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicasio Dayam in the 32nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Ricardo Weterio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jerico Villafana. That made the score 2-1 after 34 minutes of play. If Ricardo Weterio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 played minutes Montevideo City Torque got a freekick which was hit by Dantae Septien. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ricardo Weterio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Nicasio Dayam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicasio Dayam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 55th minute, Ricardo Weterio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Montevideo City Torque:s goal. Emiliano Urdin went to the wrong direction when Xosepe Juara was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Ricardo Weterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jerico Villafana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Nicasio Dayam in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In a very dangerous position, a player in Montevideo City Torque fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 90th minute. Penalty! Montevideo City Torque:s Jerico Villafana showed great skill when he stopped Tomas Avellaneda:s penalty. Emiliano Urdin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esquipula Sandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. If Xosepe Juara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Montevideo City Torque's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA had won, even though Montevideo City Torque had held more of the ball.
