Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Skay Škarpa started the match with the kick off. Balavanis's George Aelenei got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Jedrzej Grucza successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some careless play in the Balavanis defense, Waldemar Puszynski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aron Bebeșel. The Balavanis fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aron Bebeșel should have stopped the shot. In the 16th minute Skay Škarpa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aron Bebeșel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jedrzej Grucza was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Augustin Manole capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Augustin Manole really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Balavanis's Aron Bebeșel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Puszynski in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Balavanis's zone, Wladyslaw Korytkowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aron Bebeșel came out of the goal and Wladyslaw Korytkowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Marin Gavrilă left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Balavanis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Gigi Văcăroiu was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 38 minutes into the match. A collision led to Balavanis getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Gigi Văcăroiu hit a great ball. Skay Škarpa took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aron Bebeșel. Aron Bebeșel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Aron Bebeșel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Skay Škarpa in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristinel Tapalagă was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristinel Tapalagă in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jedrzej Grucza saved Skarpa Ełk from getting behind. After 53 played minutes Balavanis got a freekick which was hit by Horaţiu Vermeşan. Aron Bebeșel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krzysztof Biskupiak in the 56th minute of the match. Jedrzej Grucza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristinel Tapalagă, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Skarpa Ełk's Barnaba Weyna tried to score from far away in the 81st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Skarpa Ełk booed when Balavanis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marin Gavrilă didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Skarpa Ełk's Waldemar Puszynski got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 88th minute, Skarpa Ełk's Mateusz Wojtkiewicz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aron Bebeșel. Aron Bebeșel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-3. After a rather tough play, Balavanis's Horaţiu Vermeşan got a free kick in the 91st minute.

The Skarpa Ełk supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Skarpa Ełk would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
