After some careless play in the Damian’s Team defense, Mattias Wallengren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robustiano Sesuldo. The Damian’s Team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robustiano Sesuldo should have stopped the shot. 7 minutes into the match, Damian’s Team's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Agachi came free, but Robustiano Sesuldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robustiano Sesuldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Wallengren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the match, Damian’s Team's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Wallengren came free, but Robustiano Sesuldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albano Bertol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Robustiano Sesuldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mattias Wallengren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robustiano Sesuldo having to make a save. After 23 played minutes Damian’s Team got a freekick which was hit by Rogerio Rocafort. In the 30th minute, Rogerio Rocafort hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robustiano Sesuldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mattias Wallengren, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After the first half Newell´s were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Damian’s Team getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Rogerio Rocafort hit a great ball. In the 51st minute of the match Ioan Agachi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robustiano Sesuldo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Damian’s Team's Rogerio Rocafort got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After 54 played minutes Newell´s got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Iago. 55 minutes into the game, Amadeo Lizbeth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newell´s's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Damian’s Team the free kick. After 55 played minutes Newell´s got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Lizbeth. When Rogerio Rocafort came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Damian’s Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogerio Rocafort couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the game, Newell´s's Mattias Wallengren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Robustiano Sesuldo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Damian’s Team's Robustiano Sesuldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Damian’s Team from getting a goal against them. Teo Juez kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Damian’s Team's Alex Piedrahita was substituted for Ayoví Angeles. After 65 played minutes Damian’s Team got a freekick which was hit by Teo Juez. In the 67th minute Ioan Agachi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Sesuldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robustiano Sesuldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ioan Agachi in the 69th minute of the match. Rogerio Rocafort charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rogerio Rocafort the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ioan Agachi kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Edmund Sobczak came free, but Cristobal Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the match, Damian’s Team's goal looked a bit too open when Ioan Agachi came free, but Robustiano Sesuldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robustiano Sesuldo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mattias Wallengren in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute Albano Bertol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Sesuldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Newell´s's Leopoldo Ferrer suffered a sprained foot after 87 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Santo Traslago's late challenge caught a Newell´s's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santo Traslago helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute, Santo Traslago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Damian’s Team getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Isaias Montejo hit a great ball. In the 95th minute, Newell´s's Mattias Wallengren dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. When the match was over Newell´s could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Damian’s Team throughout the match.
