Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alonzo Eguen to make the kick off. After 89 played minutes Salud y República got a freekick which was hit by Nisio Riba. When Luisito Pelayo fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored United.SF's protests and gave Luisito Pelayo a yellow card for diving instead.
