He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Montevideo City Torque booed when Torbellino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliciano Justin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Torbellino defense, Rodrigo Alvarez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilfredo Mikelar. The Torbellino fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilfredo Mikelar should have stopped the shot. Adan Veto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerico Villafana having to interfere. Wilfredo Mikelar was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Rodrigo Alvarez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rodrigo Alvarez really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. 45 minutes into the match, Montevideo City Torque's goal looked a bit too open when Prudencio Bernat came free, but Jerico Villafana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adan Veto to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Adan Veto kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jerico Villafana. That made the score 3-1 in the 59 minute of play. If Adan Veto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Enrique Hustaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xosepe Juara took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wilfredo Mikelar. Torbellino's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Joel Cordaryal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Torbellino's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Cordaryal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerico Villafana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 84 minutes, Matías Pagani mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montevideo City Torque and the Torbellino players grew even worse after the yellow card.
