An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Vøge in the 11th minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Rodrigo Huilipan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicente Calderón tried in the 12th minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Rodrigo Huilipan a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 1-0. Einar Klysnov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Hugo Painevilu in the 17th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, U21 Chile's Mark Gonzalez seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Mark Gonzalez the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U21 Chile protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Mark Gonzalez had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 29 played minutes U21 Chile got a freekick which was hit by Mark Gonzalez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rune Perlstrøm in the 30th minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Rodrigo Huilipan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the game, U21 Chile's Victor Hugo Painevilu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Einar Klysnov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After 35 minutes, Cristopher Damian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Chile and the U21 Denmark players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 35 played minutes U21 Chile got a freekick which was hit by Cristopher Damian. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Chile's zone, Dan Vøge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Huilipan came out of the goal and Dan Vøge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd match minute, U21 Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rune Perlstrøm to maneuver through the defense. If Victor Hugo Painevilu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Hugo Painevilu in the 48th minute of play forced U21 Denmark's goalkeeper Einar Klysnov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristopher Damian made a kick off. Rodrigo Huilipan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Vøge in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to U21 Denmark getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gorm Jattu hit a great ball. The supporters of U21 Chile booed when U21 Denmark was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gorm Jattu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute Dan Vøge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Huilipan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Huilipan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dan Vøge's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rikard Træden in the 72nd minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Rodrigo Huilipan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodrigo Huilipan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rikard Træden went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Augustin Strigel made in the 80th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Dan Vøge however managed to control. 81 minutes into the game, Chupan Hoyo threw the ball into play from the sideline. U21 Denmark's Gregers Kumler quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 82nd minute Dan Vøge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Huilipan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Huilipan came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Denmark's Dan Vøge. But to his dismay, Dan Vøge quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Vøge in the 90th minute of play forced U21 Chile's goalkeeper Rodrigo Huilipan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Denmark were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of U21 Chile for a fine match.
