Iustin Bungeanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Jerônimo Maranhense made a huge save. Jerônimo Maranhense made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Iustin Bungeanu sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nitra FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kléberson Neiva was slow to take the kick. During this time Palmeiras's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the Palmeiras defense, Jonathan da Cunha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis de Queirós. The Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis de Queirós should have stopped the shot. Régis de Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Williams Ferrari in the 28th minute of play. After 32 minutes Nitra FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kléberson Neiva who took care of the corner kick. Nando Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Régis de Queirós came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Nitra FC's Jonathan da Cunha. But to his dismay, Jonathan da Cunha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Fantini in the 47th minute of play forced Nitra FC's goalkeeper Jerônimo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iustin Bungeanu made a kick off. Régis de Queirós was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Nando Pinho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nando Pinho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Wesley Fantini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo Maranhense having to interfere. Régis de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan da Cunha in the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute of the match Nitra FC got a corner. Palmeiras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oliver Veentjer took the corner. The corner led to Nitra FC's Bernard Edwards getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Carlos Ribeiro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Régis de Queirós came out and tried to block the shot, but Carlos Ribeiro slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 68th minute. 72 minutes into the match, Nitra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Fantini came free, but Jerônimo Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Wesley Fantini made a precise shot to the right of Jerônimo Maranhense. Nitra FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. Jerônimo Maranhense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iustin Bungeanu's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Nitra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Fantini came free, but Jerônimo Maranhense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmeiras were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Nitra FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Kléberson Neiva took the corner. 82 minutes into the game, 彭然威 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nitra FC the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. When the match had been going on for 83 minutes, Nitra FC's Nando Pinho got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Régis de Queirós. Régis de Queirós was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Jonathan da Cunha capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jonathan da Cunha really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. Bernt Jønsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Nitra FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Palmeiras:s goal. In the 93rd minute there was a penalty for Palmeiras. Iustin Bungeanu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jerônimo Maranhense. 2-6. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Nitra FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
