A collision led to Callegari getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Delfim Tepedino hit a great ball. Telmo Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald De Messemaeckre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Wils FC's goal looked a bit too open when Róbson Velasco came free, but Andreas Frans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Telmo Almeida stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edwin Koppen's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Andreas Frans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Róbson Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olavo Pinheiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Telmo Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harald De Messemaeckre in the 25th minute of the match. If Róbson Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 26th minute Róbson Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Frans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wils FC's Andreas Frans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Róbson Velasco in the 30th minute of play. Thibaud Verhulst tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Andreas Frans. In the 37th minute, Clemente Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Callegari's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lorenz Van Deijck was slow to take the kick. During this time Wils FC's players had a chance to rest. Andreas Frans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olavo Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Róbson Velasco might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andreas Frans. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Róbson Velasco ran back to his position shaking his head. Harald De Messemaeckre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Telmo Almeida made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Róbson Velasco to strike the kick off in the second half. If Róbson Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Róbson Velasco in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Andreas Frans, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 58th match minute, Wils FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Etienne Van Achteren to maneuver through the defense. Callegari made a substitution. After 67 minutes of play, Wils FC's Harald De Messemaeckre made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Telmo Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! Callegari made a substitution. Eduardo Guerrero replaced Róbson Velasco. Andreas Frans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Guerrero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute Edwin Koppen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Telmo Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Guerrero showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4.
The Wils FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Callegari to win.
