A nice corner shot did that Waclaw Kaczanek got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zarando Calva quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolando Alley in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pawel Madej saved Olimpia Koło from getting behind. Gabirel Caceo was slow to take the kick. During this time Atlético de Caracas's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolando Alley in the 36th minute of play forced Olimpia Koło's goalkeeper Pawel Madej to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Janes Gobbelijns could shoot a difficult shot in the 38th minute, which Pawel Madej however easily saved by the left post. After some careless play in the Atlético de Caracas defense, Tolek Jarmulowicz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zarando Calva. The Atlético de Caracas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zarando Calva should have stopped the shot. With his leg Pawel Madej managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Atlético de Caracas's Rolando Alley fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Through an outstanding action, after 46 minutes, Pawel Madej successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Atlético de Caracas's Siro Arancibia was substituted for Maxim Cernei. Atlético de Caracas made a substitution. Aires Laguno replaced Ponce Roig. If Janes Gobbelijns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aires Laguno took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pawel Madej. Pawel Madej dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 76thth minute of the game Shi Jian who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olimpia Koło's Pawel Madej was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pawel Madej showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Shi Jian, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. If Shi Jian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
