The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind São Paulo da Floresta's goalkeeper Reynaldo Maia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Hackspett U21's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when João Francisco Pirani scored to the left of an out of position Joachim Holmgren, making the score, 1-1. FC Hackspett U21's Wilhelm Kilberg quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mirolyub Razlozhki, made in the 13th minute of the game. When Miromir Szostak came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the FC Hackspett U21 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miromir Szostak couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute João Francisco Pirani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Holmgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute Miromir Szostak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miromir Szostak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Hackspett U21's Kara Melo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miromir Szostak in the 24th minute of play forced São Paulo da Floresta's goalkeeper Reynaldo Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Hackspett U21's Kara Melo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Mirolyub Razlozhki in the 31 minute of the game. 36 minutes into the game, FC Hackspett U21's Shi Li Sha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Maia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in São Paulo da Floresta's zone, Andréas Strömberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reynaldo Maia came out of the goal and Andréas Strömberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miromir Szostak in the 41st minute of play forced São Paulo da Floresta's goalkeeper Reynaldo Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. São Paulo da Floresta's Reynaldo Maia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miromir Szostak in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute, São Paulo da Floresta's João Francisco Pirani ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joachim Holmgren. Joachim Holmgren yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andréas Strömberg made a kick off. Reynaldo Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miromir Szostak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Göran Ekelund managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Hackspett U21's supporters rose to their feet, but Göran Ekelund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 60 minutes into the game, Miromir Szostak recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reynaldo Maia. Miromir Szostak showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-3. After 63 minutes of play, FC Hackspett U21's Miromir Szostak made it 3-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reynaldo Maia was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reynaldo Maia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andréas Strömberg in the 66th minute. FC Hackspett U21's Luka Pirlo was substituted for Kara Melo. FC Hackspett U21 made a substitution. Ye Feng Feng replaced Berend Hermensen. São Paulo da Floresta's Reynaldo Maia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miromir Szostak in the 74th minute of play. In the 78th minute Antônio Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Holmgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reynaldo Maia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. São Paulo da Floresta's Adriano Sharkin was substituted for Antônio Rocha. São Paulo da Floresta's 肖宁响 was substituted for João Francisco Pirani. After a rather tough play, FC Hackspett U21's Göran Ekelund got a free kick in the 97th minute.

The São Paulo da Floresta manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing FC Hackspett U21 to win.
