The supporters of Academia Rio booed when Rova Rosiori was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aron Gherasim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Academia Rio's Ionică Negrescu was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 17th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Cristi Zbagan's late challenge caught a Academia Rio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristi Zbagan helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 played minutes Rova Rosiori got a freekick which was hit by Cristi Zbagan. Ernest Mahonea took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Constantin Tatomir. Rova Rosiori's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Academia Rio's Iustinian Tănăsescu in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The coaching staff of Rova Rosiori protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Teodor Sava had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rova Rosiori! Constantin Tatomir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ioan Oltean in the 79th minute of play. Academia Rio's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
