If Rius Mascaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Popolizio FBC's zone, Vedat Zübeyir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermann Hesse came out of the goal and Vedat Zübeyir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Club Deportivo Águila's Gustavo Guimarães got control of the ball when Evelio Inguanzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 24th minute Deportivo Popolizio FBC were awarded a corner. Cris Ronaldo went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 26th minute Evelio Inguanzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo Guimarães saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Evelio Inguanzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 28 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Águila's goal looked a bit too open when Evelio Inguanzo came free, but Gustavo Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Deportivo Popolizio FBC booed when Club Deportivo Águila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Deportivo Águila's Herminio Florinio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hermann Hesse. That made the score 0-1 after 58 minutes of play. Vedat Zübeyir's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hermann Hesse firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 68 minutes of play, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Torbjørn Trondsen made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustavo Guimarães was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gustavo Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 86 minutes into the match, Erruki Velarroa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gustavo Guimarães. Club Deportivo Águila's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Erruki Velarroa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Club Deportivo Águila's Gustavo Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torbjørn Trondsen in the 90th minute of play. Gustavo Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erruki Velarroa in the 92nd minute of the match.
