Magallanes's Isidro Camara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Magallanes from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the match, Kadim Sebil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Chilavert. Algarrobo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kadim Sebil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Magallanes's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Madison came free, but Isidro Camara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the game, Jack Madison recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Isidro Camara. Jack Madison showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 23rd minute Kadim Sebil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Algarrobo's José Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kadim Sebil in the 25th minute of play. Magallanes's Tomás Thompson managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Dejan Stankovič in the 28 minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Kadim Sebil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but José Chilavert was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Wilfredo Marchetti's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Isidro Camara firmly grabbed it by the left post. 34 minutes into the match, Magallanes's Kadim Sebil sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Chilavert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Magallanes's Isidro Camara proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Magallanes from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Wilfredo Marchetti put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Isidro Camara. In the 40th minute Peio Raggio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilfredo Marchetti kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. José Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kadim Sebil, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Anacleto Dessauer kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Magallanes's Maximiliano Ossa got a free kick in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kadim Sebil to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goal looked a bit too open when Peio Raggio came free, but José Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Marchetti in the 54th minute of play forced Magallanes's goalkeeper Isidro Camara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Algarrobo's José Chilavert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Algarrobo from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Algarrobo's José Chilavert got control of the ball when Peio Raggio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Magallanes's Rose Encina was substituted for Alejandro Campbell. Isidro Camara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jack Madison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Magallanes's Tiburcio Kiliz was substituted for Maximiliano Ossa. Isidro Camara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Cañas in the 75th minute of the match. Isidro Camara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rafael Nadal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan Mondaca took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Chilavert. José Chilavert dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 84th minute Jack Madison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Camara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Magallanes's Juan Mondaca dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. In the 90th minute, Tiburcio Kiliz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 93 minutes into the match, Algarrobo's goalkeeper José Chilavert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Peio Raggio. After some careless play in the Magallanes defense, Rafael Nadal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidro Camara. The Magallanes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidro Camara should have stopped the shot. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
