Rubinho Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho Fenomeno in the 14th minute of play. CJ Lewandowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Arruda hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Rubinho Lago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lauro Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Jacinto Veiga got a throw-in 21 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Ronaldinho Fenomeno. If Antonio Reno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubinho Lago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lauro Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as CJ Lewandowski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oliverio Kahn. That made the score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, La Società Sport Osasco's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Fenomeno came free, but Rubinho Lago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. CJ Lewandowski's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Oliverio Kahn firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 40 played minutes AS Pikachuzim got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Tudor. La Società Sport Osasco were awarded a corner in the 43th minute after AS Pikachuzim's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paredes Malvido took the corner. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The supporters of La Società Sport Osasco booed when AS Pikachuzim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Boström didn't get a good kick on the ball. The whistle blew for the end of the second half and the match was still tied. The players were able to take a short break before lining up again for extra-time.

With new strength the players walked out on the field for the first half of overtime. Arif Oğuz Semdin in AS Pikachuzim was the one to initiate the kick off. In the 107th minute Luciano Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubinho Lago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AS Pikachuzim's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eric Ramires in the 108th minute. Oliverio Kahn made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chen Jian in the 116th minute. The score was still level after an even and exciting first-half in extra time. The players took a moment to grab a drink and get instructions from their managers before swapping ends.

The players looked a little tired but resolute before the second half of the overtime, where Gilvan Maranhense took the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arif Oğuz Semdin in the 124th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubinho Lago saved La Società Sport Osasco from getting behind. If Ted Rijkaard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 126th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 129 minutes into the game, Ferenc Puskás cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Oliverio Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
