The crowd rose to their feet as Válbson de Alcântara kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Richard Fontes. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. Válbson de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Richard Fontes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Motta Futebol Clube. Aírton de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Trigo in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute Zé Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aírton de Lima didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zé Trigo went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Alfred Chmelyk kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Richard Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artur Sabóia, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sumaré Sport Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 32nd minute, Lu Ladron reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Richard Fontes. The goal made the score 2-1. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Motta Futebol Clube:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sumaré Sport Club:s goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Sabóia in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richard Fontes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute Motta Futebol Clube were awarded a corner. Juninho Aparecido went to the cornerflag to take it. Aírton de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Chmelyk, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Debus Aun hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. But to his dismay, Artur Sabóia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Richard Fontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Válbson de Alcântara in the 77th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Dudu Hermes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Richard Fontes. Sumaré Sport Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dudu Hermes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Motta Futebol Clube made a substitution. The Motta Futebol Clube fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sumaré Sport Club had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
