José Pedro Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinícius Penha, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Błαck Bułłs MZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emiel Desmet in the 12th minute. Emiel Desmet made a great header on Błαck Bułłs MZ's corner, it was just that Botafogo AP's José Pedro Bertassi managed to reach the ball for a save. Vinícius Penha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Pedro Bertassi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match Błαck Bułłs MZ got a corner. Botafogo AP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emiel Desmet ran over to the corner to take the kick. A hard shot 35 in the game by Fritz Ernst Joinvilense from a close distance when the talented Thiago Domingues managed to make a qualified save. Błαck Bułłs MZ's players were relieved. José Pedro Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vinícius Penha in the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Laerte de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. José Pedro Bertassi came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Błαck Bułłs MZ's Vinícius Penha. But to his dismay, Vinícius Penha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Błαck Bułłs MZ's Vinícius Penha, in the 44th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Błαck Bułłs MZ. In the 48th minute, Vinícius Penha made a precise shot to the right of José Pedro Bertassi. Botafogo AP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After the first half Błαck Bułłs MZ were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Caetano Carioca to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Błαck Bułłs MZ booed when Botafogo AP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Carioca came free, but José Pedro Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Botafogo AP's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Henry Bodin fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Caetano Carioca might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Pedro Bertassi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caetano Carioca ran back to his position shaking his head. José Pedro Bertassi made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Caetano Carioca sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute, Caetano Carioca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Błαck Bułłs MZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Błαck Bułłs MZ's Sebastião Gigante was substituted for Cesar Sampaio. Błαck Bułłs MZ made a substitution. César Bittencourt replaced Samuca das Neves. Błαck Bułłs MZ's César Bittencourt managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Laerte de Mendonça in the 67 minute of the game. In the 77th play minute Caetano Carioca came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised José Pedro Bertassi. 0-7. Abel Etxatxu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but José Pedro Bertassi made a huge save. José Pedro Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Błαck Bułłs MZ. 93 minutes into the game, Laerte de Mendonça threw the ball into play from the sideline. Błαck Bułłs MZ's César Bittencourt quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After having played for 99 minutes, Caetano Carioca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Błαck Bułłs MZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caetano Carioca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Błαck Bułłs MZ eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
