Wit Mondrowski hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Magalhães in the 13th minute of play forced Hahay's goalkeeper Zbyszek Pilipiec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Leopoldo Sanches left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.E.R. Caxias do Sul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 24th minute, Hahay's Dariusz Opat seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dariusz Opat the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Hahay protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dariusz Opat had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Hahay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.E.R. Caxias do Sul:s goal. In the 37th match minute, Hahay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wit Mondrowski to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Hahay getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Kacper Dziatkowski hit a great ball. In the 40th minute of the match Carlos Alberto Magalhães shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zbyszek Pilipiec showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Hahay's Zbyszek Pilipiec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Sanches in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Hahay made a substitution. Edgar Kornatowski replaced Radomir Karwowski. The wind increased when Leopoldo Sanches made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Hahay's Artur Kon got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Leopoldo Sanches scored 3-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zbyszek Pilipiec, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. João Batista might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zbyszek Pilipiec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Batista ran back to his position shaking his head. When S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Leopoldo Sanches in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hahay's goalie prevented a goal. Fausto Ferraz made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Wit Mondrowski sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute, Adam Glembin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zbyszek Pilipiec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Magalhães, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Carlos Alberto Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zbyszek Pilipiec having to interfere. In the 96th minute Carlos Alberto Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zbyszek Pilipiec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 97th minute, Adam Glembin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
