In the 9th minute, Gaitan Gabriel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Orfilio Orbañanos came free, but Bruno Renan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes had been played when some careless play by Marquês de Herval's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kim Heers was slow to take the kick. During this time U. de Tarapacá's players had a chance to rest. The corner led U. de Tarapacá's Kim Heers to fire away a dangerous shot which Bruno Renan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Orfilio Orbañanos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Bruno Renan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. U. de Tarapacá's Ariel Balboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Betão dos Santos in the 23rd minute of play. Mark Devia's late challenge caught a Marquês de Herval's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mark Devia helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, U. de Tarapacá's Mark Devia got a free kick in the 25th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Martins in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ariel Balboa saved U. de Tarapacá from getting behind. Bruno Renan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orfilio Orbañanos in the 32nd minute of the match. After 34 minutes of play, Marquês de Herval's Carlos Fernando Fantini made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ariel Balboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! The throw-in from Almir Loureiro in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U. de Tarapacá's Muharrem Duman. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Martins in the 47th minute of play forced U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Ariel Balboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ariel Balboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute of the match, Carlos Fernando Fantini got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ariel Balboa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 54 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Ariel Balboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alfredo Martins. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Martins in the 57th minute of play forced U. de Tarapacá's goalkeeper Ariel Balboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U. de Tarapacá's Ariel Balboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save U. de Tarapacá from getting a goal against them. U. de Tarapacá's Mark Devia quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Selami Rezan, made in the 65th minute of the game. Bruno Renan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orfilio Orbañanos in the 65th minute of play. In the 68th minute Carlos Fernando Fantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Balboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rdth minute of the game Orfilio Orbañanos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marquês de Herval's Bruno Renan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Orfilio Orbañanos put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bruno Renan. Ariel Balboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the match, U. de Tarapacá's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Fernando Fantini came free, but Ariel Balboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, U. de Tarapacá's Ariel Balboa got control of the ball when Betão dos Santos tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th minute Orfilio Orbañanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Renan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Vizitiu. Selami Rezan got a throw-in 91 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Leonard Moise. In the 95th minute, Orfilio Orbañanos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U. de Tarapacá fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Marquês de Herval players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U. de Tarapacá.
