In the 35th minute, 27 de Mayo's Silas Arantes seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Silas Arantes the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of 27 de Mayo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Silas Arantes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 35th minute, Silas Arantes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabiano Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacobo Fero, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Rafaela FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
