Yorrick Zoethout took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Unai Sócrates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fauna Utd's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by 董文鹰 in the 16th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of SV Balverliefd's goalie and right to Pieterjan Anteunis. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. SV Balverliefd's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 21 minutes of play, Fauna Utd's Unai Sócrates made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yorrick Zoethout was left in no man's land by his defense there! Radamel Hendrickx made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Henk Veerman sent off a good shot on target. Emiliano Caiola hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Henk Veerman succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 45th playminute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Unai Sócrates stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Unai Sócrates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yorrick Zoethout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 52 minutes into the match, Fauna Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Emiliano Caiola came free, but Radamel Hendrickx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Radamel Hendrickx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melker Gudmundsson in the 54th minute of the match. If Pieterjan Anteunis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Melker Gudmundsson, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 60 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Radamel Hendrickx was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Unai Sócrates's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Yorrick Zoethout read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Pieterjan Anteunis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Virgil Lindelöf in the 73rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Fauna Utd's Octav Zdraşcu. Karel Cromefeldt kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Unai Sócrates shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yorrick Zoethout saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th play minute Unai Sócrates came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Yorrick Zoethout. 1-4. The Fauna Utd players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
