The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sherman Cardenas charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sherman Cardenas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Deportivo ScrugenFC booed when Atlético Bucaramanga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sherman Cardenas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orland Villadiego took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hitz Urdiales. Atlético Bucaramanga's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 18 minutes into the game, Deportivo ScrugenFC's Zeng Jian Cheng nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When Ladio Toria fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Bucaramanga's protests and gave Ladio Toria a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martxot Peroalfonso in the 72nd minute of play forced Atlético Bucaramanga's goalkeeper Hitz Urdiales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deportivo ScrugenFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Orland Villadiego in the 73rd minute. Deportivo ScrugenFC played a much better game than Atlético Bucaramanga and deserved their victory. The Atlético Bucaramanga players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
