Sporting Clube de Gaya's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 16th minute, Gavino Peru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Manuel Porto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Rosio was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. After 24th play minutes Manuel Porto shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Paulo Rosio and just under the crossbar into goal. 28 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper António Trubin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvestre Gonzo. António Trubin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Hernandez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Hernandez in the 37th minute of play forced Sporting Clube de Gaya's goalkeeper António Trubin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Sporting Clube de Gaya's António Trubin got control of the ball when Joel Federigo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Hernandez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving António Trubin. That made the score 2-2 in the 48 minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Federigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. António Trubin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alonzo Niguel, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. António Trubin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigio Handi in the 59th minute of play. Paulo Rosio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Porto in the 61st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Atletas Campesinos F.C. had won after a very even match.
