A. Korn's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Izquierdo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A sloppy throw-in by Jorge Jaunti in the 11th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by A. Korn's Nacho Fernández. With his leg Aureliano Herena managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when A. Korn's Cirilo Urki fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A. Korn were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Martin Palermo F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nacho Fernández took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Nicolás De la Cruz heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Cirilo Urki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cirilo Urki blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aureliano Herena having to make a save. In the 20th minute, Nacho Fernández hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Martin Palermo F.C.'s Aureliano Herena got control of the ball when Cirilo Urki tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Izquierdo in the 29th minute of play forced A. Korn's goalkeeper Juan Sendoa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juan Sendoa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastián Izquierdo in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, A. Korn's Alvaro Urtsin got a free kick in the 34th minute. Cirilo Urki took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aureliano Herena. Aureliano Herena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. A. Korn's Cirilo Urki came free and shot a quick shot against goal 38 minutes in the game, fortunately Aureliano Herena had problems saving as it came toward the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cirilo Urki got free with Aureliano Herena in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Izquierdo made a kick off. Sebastián Izquierdo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 52 minutes into the match, A. Korn's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Felipillo came free, but Juan Sendoa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by A. Korn's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Celso Felipillo was slow to take the kick. During this time Martin Palermo F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. The audience was convinced that Cirilo Urki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureliano Herena was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. With a little luck, A. Korn's Juan Sendoa got control of the ball when Sebastián Izquierdo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Aureliano Herena tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The A. Korn fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when A. Korn's Cirilo Urki looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience was convinced that Cirilo Urki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureliano Herena was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 91st match minute, A. Korn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Frasco to maneuver through the defense. Christian Izquierdo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Martin Palermo F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
