When Vencho Sprostranov fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester United F.C.'s protests and gave Vencho Sprostranov a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, Manchester United F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vencho Sprostranov to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United F.C.'s zone, Markos Chiotis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evrosi Popsavov came out of the goal and Markos Chiotis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stelios Melas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tzvetoslav Levchev, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Gonzalo Higuaín fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stelios Melas having to interfere. With a little luck, AEK KAVALAS FC's Stelios Melas got control of the ball when Grigor Tzokanov tried to sneak it across the goal line. A throw-in in the 13th minute of the game was made by Ruslan Dudin with Tzvetoslav Levchev as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 15th minute, Chrisostomos Pittarakis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, AEK KAVALAS FC's Markos Chiotis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evrosi Popsavov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ruslan Dudin made in the 19th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Tzvetoslav Levchev. After having played for 22 minutes, Gonzalo Higuaín managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester United F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Gonzalo Higuaín was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manchester United F.C.'s Evrosi Popsavov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markos Chiotis in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladko Pipkov in the 28th minute of play forced AEK KAVALAS FC's goalkeeper Stelios Melas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute, Kleanthis Kostakoglou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Manchester United F.C.'s Grigor Tzokanov got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 36 played minutes Manchester United F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Vencho Sprostranov. Stelios Melas went to the wrong direction when Gonzalo Higuaín was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vladko Pipkov to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Tzvetoslav Levchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stelios Melas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evrosi Popsavov had great luck who in the 57thth minute grab hold of the ball when Markos Chiotis from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 60 minutes, Chrisostomos Pittarakis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AEK KAVALAS FC and the Manchester United F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Chrisostomos Pittarakis hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Vladko Pipkov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, AEK KAVALAS FC's Kleanthis Kostakoglou got a free kick in the 67th minute. Ruslan Dudin made in the 70th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by AEK KAVALAS FC's Kleanthis Kostakoglou. Vencho Sprostranov made in the 73rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Tzvetoslav Levchev immediately put the ball in play. Vencho Sprostranov made in the 77th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ruslan Dudin however managed to control. When Grigor Tzokanov came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Manchester United F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Grigor Tzokanov couldn't finish the play. Manchester United F.C.'s Evrosi Popsavov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markos Chiotis in the 81st minute of play. Chrisostomos Kyriakos charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chrisostomos Kyriakos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stelios Melas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladko Pipkov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, AEK KAVALAS FC's Markos Chiotis got a free kick in the 95th minute. Manchester United F.C. were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
