Patricio Toribia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Vander in the 30th minute of play. Ştefan Negrilă's late challenge caught a Birmingham Railers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ştefan Negrilă helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute of the match Betão Esteves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patricio Toribia skillfully saved the ball. Rui Botelho kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sidney Vander to make the kick off. Victor Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Madaleno Quevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 67th match minute, Birmingham Railers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. Victor Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perfecto Orgaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
