An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlo Rujula in the 11th minute of play forced GLADIADORES's goalkeeper Eurico Arantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubens Monteiro got free with Xever Anievas in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Xever Anievas made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Sebastião Furtado sent off a good shot on target. Sebastião Furtado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Xever Anievas made a huge save. After 18 played minutes GLADIADORES got a freekick which was hit by José Paulo Magalhães. In the 24th match minute, GLADIADORES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Trigo to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, CERRO PORTEÑO's Xabat Lariz got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Nuno Berrondo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. CERRO PORTEÑO's Xever Anievas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save CERRO PORTEÑO from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, CERRO PORTEÑO's Xever Anievas got control of the ball when Sebastião Furtado tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to GLADIADORES getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Zé Augusto Cruz hit a great ball. In the 36th minute Zé Augusto Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xever Anievas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th match minute, GLADIADORES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Trigo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of CERRO PORTEÑO booed when GLADIADORES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Augusto Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sebastião Furtado was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldinho Bittencourt in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xever Anievas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Xever Anievas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastião Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 61 minutes into the match, GLADIADORES's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Berrondo came free, but Eurico Arantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastião Furtado came free, but Xever Anievas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The coaching staff of GLADIADORES protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ian Trigo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. One of GLADIADORES:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CERRO PORTEÑO:s goal. Pinto Valer walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Sebastião Furtado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Orlo Rujula scored 1-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eurico Arantes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see GLADIADORES lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
