Edmundo de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benigno Jesco, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Benigno Jesco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edmundo de Lima read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Justino Igon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Noel Coelho in the 13th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Noel Coelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Justino Igon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 24th minute, Noel Coelho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Justino Igon. The goal made the score 2-0. Noel Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justino Igon having to interfere. Edmundo de Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edelmiro Machado in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute of the match, Kaká Rosa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Justino Igon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Noel Coelho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justino Igon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. After 34 minutes Defensores de Fasano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Paulo Renato Ferreira who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Sagarana Clube's Paulo Renato Ferreira to fire away a dangerous shot which Justino Igon despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Domingo Guillen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Defensores de Fasano's Edelmiro Machado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edmundo de Lima narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edmundo de Lima didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edelmiro Machado went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to Defensores de Fasano getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Saverio Diaz hit a great ball. Saverio Diaz kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edelmiro Machado made a kick off. With a little luck, Sagarana Clube's Edmundo de Lima got control of the ball when Tiburcio Peruxu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Benigno Jesco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tiburcio Peruxu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Edmundo de Lima when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sagarana Clube's Edmundo de Lima proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Sagarana Clube from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiburcio Peruxu in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmundo de Lima saved Sagarana Clube from getting behind. The supporters of Sagarana Clube booed when Defensores de Fasano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Bento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmundo de Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benigno Jesco, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benigno Jesco in the 76th minute of play forced Sagarana Clube's goalkeeper Edmundo de Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 77 played minutes Sagarana Clube got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Ferreira. When Benigno Jesco came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Defensores de Fasano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benigno Jesco couldn't finish the play. Edelmiro Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo de Lima having to interfere. Edmundo de Lima took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benigno Jesco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Defensores de Fasano's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
