The Girona FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 17 minutes into the match, Girona FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gyula Schmidt came free, but Ibar Cerreri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vicente Mendez got free with Endre Fenyvesi in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Endre Fenyvesi made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Vicente Mendez sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vicente Mendez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
