When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Arnaldo Ortega sped through Grêmio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Roger Seco. In the 18th minute, Renatinho Lago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roger Seco was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 22nd minute Arnaldo Ortega shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnaldo Ortega in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roger Seco saved Grêmio from getting behind. Militros F.C.'s attack was well implemented in the 25th minute, but when Arnaldo Ortega was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. David Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger Seco having to interfere. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Grêmio's goalkeeper Roger Seco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnaldo Ortega kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roger Seco. That made the score 4-0 in the 44 minute of play.

The wind increased when Ronaldo Ramos made the kick off in the second half. In the 74th minute, Betão Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Betão Machado in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roger Seco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jarbas Marinho got a throw-in 82 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Túlio Novaes. After a rather tough play, Grêmio's Túlio Novaes got a free kick in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, Grêmio's goal looked a bit too open when Washington Peixoto came free, but Roger Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roger Seco didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Militros F.C.'s Betão Machado shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 8-0 in the ordered_time% minute. If Francisco Regis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roger Seco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Militros F.C. were the better team.
