In the 24th minute Stan Wawrinka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manfred Fribäck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John Källberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nikola Portner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. John Källberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Nikola Portner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Källberg in the 28th minute of play. Espen Steelers's Nikola Portner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Källberg in the 29th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Manfred Fribäck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hassan Schürch. Espen Steelers's Nikola Portner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Källberg in the 34th minute of play. Norrlands Athen's John Källberg managed to work through Espen Steelers's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. John Källberg dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Patricio Clerc hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Nikola Portner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Källberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Norrlands Athen's John Källberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nikola Portner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.

The supporters of Norrlands Athen booed when Espen Steelers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Clerc didn't get a good kick on the ball. John Källberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Espen Steelers's Nikola Portner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Källberg in the 56th minute of play. Norrlands Athen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clement Rothstein was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Norrlands Athen's Manfred Fribäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clement Rothstein in the 95th minute of play. Chants of Norrlands Athen echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Espen Steelers had held the ball for most of the match.
