The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ekhemos Kezdoglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Keegan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the game, Kevin Keegan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ekhemos Kezdoglou was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FC Acatar's Marian Demian was substituted for Felix Logofătu. Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicu Vornicu in the 16th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Nicu Vornicu came free, but Ronnie Hellström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronnie Hellström was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Alin Chiru capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alin Chiru really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Ronnie Hellström was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Nicu Vornicu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nicu Vornicu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. After 28 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Wennerquist. Ekhemos Kezdoglou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Keegan in the 31st minute of play. Ekhemos Kezdoglou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kurt Hamrin's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Ekhemos Kezdoglou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Keegan, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Ekhemos Kezdoglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Williams, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Jerry Williams ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ekhemos Kezdoglou was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Jerry Williams scored 2-5 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ekhemos Kezdoglou, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ekhemos Kezdoglou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Keegan in the 47th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Gigel Durbac hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Skövde AIK were leading 2-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Kevin Keegan made the kick off in the second half. Ronnie Hellström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alin Chiru's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerry Williams got free with Ekhemos Kezdoglou in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Florin Martin fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Acatar's protests and gave Florin Martin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Skövde AIK booed when FC Acatar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florin Martin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Kevin Keegan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ekhemos Kezdoglou was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-6. FC Acatar's Ekhemos Kezdoglou proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save FC Acatar from getting a goal against them. FC Acatar's Ekhemos Kezdoglou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 66th minute of play. Ronnie Hellström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicu Vornicu in the 74th minute of the match. In the 77th match minute, FC Acatar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicu Vornicu to maneuver through the defense. Alin Chiru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 85 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Șeicaru came free, but Ronnie Hellström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Skövde AIK's Jerry Williams slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ekhemos Kezdoglou. That made the score 2-8 after 91 minutes of play. Skövde AIK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
