The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to C.F Intercity getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Caitano Crespo hit a great ball. Segundo Balendin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Vikingos FC booed when C.F Intercity was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Espiridion Litago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Javier Urruticoechea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efrain Elija in the 23rd minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Vikingos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Horacio Urbina came free, but Oscar Gines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Vikingos FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Leandro Dino hit a great ball. If Matt Le Tissier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lázaro Millrick in the 44th minute of play forced C.F Intercity's goalkeeper Javier Urruticoechea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Segundo Balendin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Javier Urruticoechea having to make a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matt Le Tissier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. C.F Intercity were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Vikingos FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Xano Belalcaraz took the corner. C.F Intercity's Xano Belalcaraz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Oscar Gines in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Segundo Balendin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Javier Urruticoechea having to make a save. In the 63rd minute C.F Intercity were awarded a corner. Xano Belalcaraz went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Xano Belalcaraz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Oscar Gines quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Vikingos FC's Oscar Gines played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horacio Urbina in the 68th minute of play. After 72 played minutes Vikingos FC got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Dino. Leandro Dino kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Matt Le Tissier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oscar Gines was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Oscar Gines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matt Le Tissier, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Rosendo Estevez hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Matt Le Tissier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Gines having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, one of Vikingos FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 92nd minute there was a penalty for C.F Intercity. Matt Le Tissier stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Oscar Gines. 1-0. Gonzalo Argoitz kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. C.F Intercity were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Vikingos FC for a fine match.
