With a little luck, AIF's Marek Szostak got control of the ball when Tudor Bărbânță tried to sneak it across the goal line. Stefan Collin took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marian Podgoreanu. Marian Podgoreanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Marian Podgoreanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Smefeldt in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute AIF were awarded a corner. Birger Engström went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led AIF's Birger Engström to fire away a dangerous shot which Marian Podgoreanu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Smefeldt in the 20th minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Marian Podgoreanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Stefan Collin notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Marian Podgoreanu. Marian Podgoreanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mihai Odobescu during the 32nd minute. The wind increased when Stefan Collin made the kick off in the second half. Mihai Odobescu kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 52nd minute, Kent Smefeldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cornel Câmpeanu kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kent Smefeldt got free with Marian Podgoreanu in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as AIF's Stefan Collin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marian Podgoreanu. That made the score 0-4 after 55 minutes of play. In the 58th minute Cristi Platon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marek Szostak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Florin Astafiei came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florin Astafiei couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Marian Podgoreanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kent Smefeldt. Marian Podgoreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Collin in the 72nd minute of the match. Marian Podgoreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Collin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the game, AIF's Kent Smefeldt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marian Podgoreanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Cristi Platon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Szostak having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Konrad Lindblom was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AIF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC UNIREA Alba Iulia the free kick. AIF:s Marek Szostak showed great skill when he stopped Florin Astafiei:s penalty. In the 97th minute, Iulian Bucurescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marian Podgoreanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kent Smefeldt in the 99th minute.
