With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ronald Thomson in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chatruc Oro saved Esmeraldas S.C. from getting behind. Ambrossi Abeita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Ivan Steiner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Chatruc Oro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Thomson in the 27th minute of play. Daniel Castillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Daniel Castillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivan Steiner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Chatruc Oro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronald Thomson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ronald Thomson in the 44th minute of play forced Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Chatruc Oro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ambrossi Abeita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Cántaro Viladrosa got a free kick in the 54th minute. Odell Boyle kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After 66 minutes of play, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Ambrossi Abeita made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Steiner was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ronald Thomson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Chatruc Oro made a huge save. Ronald Thomson scored 3-4 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Chatruc Oro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chatruc Oro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronald Thomson's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Theo Zuniga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chatruc Oro having to make a save. Ronald Thomson struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Chatruc Oro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golden Hills. 98 minutes into the match, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Guagua Cabañero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Steiner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle went the supporters of Golden Hills were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Esmeraldas S.C. side.
