After 2 played minutes Aek athens got a freekick which was hit by Iolaos Tyrovolas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciccio Bassani in the 3rd minute of play forced Aek athens's goalkeeper Plouton Karameros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 7 played minutes S.S.C. NAPOLI got a freekick which was hit by Richard Nixon. Son Bomberg kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. 14 minutes into the match, Aek athens's goalkeeper Plouton Karameros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ciccio Bassani. S.S.C. NAPOLI's Franco Tarulli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyknos Tsogas in the 18th minute of play. Plouton Karameros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Pierucci, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute Ciccio Bassani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Plouton Karameros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, S.S.C. NAPOLI's Dave Pierucci dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. If Son Bomberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Aek athens's Plouton Karameros got control of the ball when Son Bomberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 35th play minutes Dave Pierucci shot 4-0, a short shot which went by Plouton Karameros and just under the crossbar into goal. Ciccio Bassani could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Plouton Karameros made a huge save. With an all-out effort, S.S.C. NAPOLI's Plouton Karameros threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dave Pierucci, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Aek athens's Plouton Karameros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Aek athens from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Aek athens's Plouton Karameros got control of the ball when Amos Battista tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When Spiros Katramados came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Aek athens fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Spiros Katramados couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Son Bomberg in the 55th minute of play forced Aek athens's goalkeeper Plouton Karameros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute, Amos Battista made a precise shot to the right of Plouton Karameros. Aek athens's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Pasqualone in the 59th minute of play forced Aek athens's goalkeeper Plouton Karameros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Plouton Karameros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciccio Bassani in the 60th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Aek athens's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Pasqualone came free, but Plouton Karameros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Son Bomberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Plouton Karameros was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 66th minute Dave Pierucci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Plouton Karameros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Nixon's late challenge caught a Aek athens's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard Nixon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 67th match minute, S.S.C. NAPOLI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Nixon to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Dave Pierucci's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Plouton Karameros was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Aek athens's Iolaos Tyrovolas got a free kick in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Aek athens's zone, Richard Nixon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Plouton Karameros came out of the goal and Richard Nixon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 79 minutes into the match, Dave Pierucci had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Plouton Karameros. Aek athens's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dave Pierucci was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Son Bomberg in the 85th minute of play forced Aek athens's goalkeeper Plouton Karameros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute Ciccio Bassani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Plouton Karameros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciccio Bassani in the 89th minute of play forced Aek athens's goalkeeper Plouton Karameros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Aglauros Passas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aek athens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.S.C. NAPOLI the free kick. In the 93rd match minute, Aek athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aglauros Passas to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Aek athens defense, Ciccio Bassani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Plouton Karameros. The Aek athens fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Plouton Karameros should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the S.S.C. NAPOLI players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
