BLACK STAR FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niolaao Viya was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 18th minute, Nacional's Niolaao Viya dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Niolaao Viya who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Jeremias Furlan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 30 minutes into the match, BLACK STAR FC's goal looked a bit too open when Niolaao Viya came free, but Jeremias Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Niolaao Viya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. BLACK STAR FC's Jeremias Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niolaao Viya in the 34th minute of play. Niolaao Viya recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute, Niolaao Viya ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeremias Furlan was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Wilson Costa put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of BLACK STAR FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nacional:s goal. BLACK STAR FC:s Jeremias Furlan showed great skill when he stopped Niolaao Viya:s penalty. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niolaao Viya to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Niolaao Viya cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jeremias Furlan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jeremias Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niolaao Viya in the 59th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Niolaao Viya in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jeremias Furlan saved BLACK STAR FC from getting behind. In the 64th minute, Niolaao Viya made a precise shot to the right of Jeremias Furlan. BLACK STAR FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. 71 minutes into the game, Nacional's Niolaao Viya nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jeremias Furlan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. After some careless play in the BLACK STAR FC defense, Chumo Palmero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeremias Furlan. The BLACK STAR FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeremias Furlan should have stopped the shot. Jeremias Furlan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chumo Palmero's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Adilson Machado's late challenge caught a Nacional's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adilson Machado helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, BLACK STAR FC's Adilson Machado got a free kick in the 85th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Nacional's Chumo Palmero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jeremias Furlan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. Nacional's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
