The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wilfred Zaha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Dino Di Luca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Pietrangelo might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Efe Akşit. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anselmo Pietrangelo ran back to his position shaking his head. Abu Sap who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Dino Di Luca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Abu Sap kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dino Di Luca. That made the score 1-1 in the 26 minute of play. Efe Akşit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Pietrangelo in the 29th minute of play. 1930 Bafraspor's Wilfred Zaha got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dino Di Luca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abu Sap in the 36th minute. Bruno Crispino hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. If Abu Sap had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Abu Sap got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute of the match 1930 Bafraspor got a corner. Foot Ball Club di Roma's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zalmon Ogle ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Zalmon Ogle got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dino Di Luca quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abu Sap was the one to do the kick off. Dino Di Luca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abu Sap, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dino Di Luca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abu Sap, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zalmon Ogle during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Zalmon Ogle hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. 1930 Bafraspor made a substitution. George Popescu replaced Abdulkerim Bardakçı. The supporters of Foot Ball Club di Roma booed when 1930 Bafraspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zalmon Ogle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abu Sap might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dino Di Luca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abu Sap ran back to his position shaking his head. Foot Ball Club di Roma's Dino Di Luca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abu Sap in the 78th minute of play. After 85 minutes of play, 1930 Bafraspor's Abu Sap made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dino Di Luca was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 90th minute, Wilfred Zaha made a precise shot to the right of Dino Di Luca. Foot Ball Club di Roma's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. After some careless play in the Foot Ball Club di Roma defense, Abu Sap kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dino Di Luca. The Foot Ball Club di Roma fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dino Di Luca should have stopped the shot.
