The Barrilete Cósmico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mario Olando should have stopped the shot. Mario Olando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toninho Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Magno Nunes struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Mario Olando didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.. Toninho Fernandez charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Toninho Fernandez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s Toninho Fernandez got a free kick in the 31st minute. Maximiliano Naelio's late challenge caught a Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After having played for 36 minutes, Maximiliano Naelio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barrilete Cósmico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maximiliano Naelio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute Donato Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Olando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Cláudio Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mario Olando. Barrilete Cósmico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cláudio Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After the first half Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Maximiliano Naelio made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Cláudio Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mario Olando breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s goalkeeper Paredes Goiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Magno Nunes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mario Olando came out and tried to block the shot, but Magno Nunes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-7 in the 75th minute. A collision led to Rua Ferreira Viana F.C. getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Cláudio Senna hit a great ball. Toninho Fernandez took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mario Olando. Mario Olando dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. After 84 played minutes Barrilete Cósmico got a freekick which was hit by Baldomiro Paio. In the 86th minute Toninho Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mario Olando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Rua Ferreira Viana F.C.'s Magno Nunes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. Toninho Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the game, Donato Botelho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-10. Mario Olando was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mario Olando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cláudio Senna in the 97th minute.
