Clayton Gerada made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Carlos Alberto da Cunha sent off a good shot on target. James Buttigieg hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Raul Aballe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Clayton Gerada made a huge save. Nico Furlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bjorn Cuschieri, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Zé Pedro Mesquita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Lobo Guará's Genílson de Amaral got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Nico Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bjorn Cuschieri in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Lobo Guará's goal looked a bit too open when Bjorn Cuschieri came free, but Nico Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victor Monreal kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. A collision led to Seraċini Għawdxin getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Neil Fenech hit a great ball. Neil Fenech was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 47 minutes into the match. 49 minutes into the match, Seraċini Għawdxin's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Pedro Mesquita came free, but Clayton Gerada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raul Aballe made a kick off. Seraċini Għawdxin's Clayton Gerada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luizinho Custódio in the 55th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Maurício Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdomiro Velasco in the 61st minute of play forced Lobo Guará's goalkeeper Nico Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lobo Guará's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Victor Monreal was slow to take the kick. During this time Seraċini Għawdxin's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Victor Monreal almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Lobo Guará's Nico Furlan did a great save. Clayton Gerada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto da Cunha, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Seraċini Għawdxin eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
