Alex Sarmento was a little too slow when Bernardinho Cardoso got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. Alex Sarmento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardinho Cardoso in the 9th minute of play. Joélson Cardozo's late challenge caught a Rezende FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joélson Cardozo helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes SRP-Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Joélson Cardozo. Rezende FC's Adalberto Paranaense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrinho Figueiredo in the 16th minute of play. SRP-Laguna's Alex Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Tasso in the 20th minute of play. During the 36th minute of the match Joélson Cardozo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Joélson Cardozo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Bernardinho Cardosos short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Alex Sarmento to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. SRP-Laguna's Alex Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Velasco in the 40th minute of play. Alex Sarmento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardinho Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute, Rezende FC's Afonsinho Tasso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bernardinho Cardoso to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the SRP-Laguna defense, Bernardinho Cardoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alex Sarmento. The SRP-Laguna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Sarmento should have stopped the shot. The Rezende FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. Afonsinho Tasso succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 8-0. In the 86th minute, Bernardinho Cardoso made a precise shot to the right of Alex Sarmento. SRP-Laguna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-0. After 93 played minutes SRP-Laguna got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Alberto Simão. There was no doubt that Rezende FC were the better team. Rezende FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
